MADISON, Wis. -- It was a winning holiday weekend for Wisconsin Lottery players who bought Mega Millions tickets for the Friday, August 30 drawing.
A winning $4 million ticket was purchased at Kwik Trip on 2819 Meadow Ln. in Manitowoc and a winning $10,000 ticket was purchased at Kwik Trip on 1919 Humes Rd. in Janesville.
The winning numbers from the Friday drawing are 10-17-20-24-54-8 with a Mega Ball of 8.
The winning $4 million ticket matched five of six numbers and included a $1 Megaplier, which increased the prize from $1 million to $4 million because of 4X Megaplier. The $10,000 winning ticket matched four of six numbers and the Mega Ball.
Nationally, the Friday Mega Millions drawing produced 1,445,634 winning tickets, with two states selling winning tickets of $1 million or more (Wisconsin and Florida). In addition, there were 50 tickets sold across the country that won $10,000 or more (including Wisconsin).
The month of September has historically been a good month for Mega Millions jackpot wins. Since the game launched in 2002, there have been 22 jackpot wins in September, with the most recent being a $431 million prize won in New York on September 21, 2021. Tonight's estimated jackpot of $681 million jackpot is by far the largest Mega Millions prize ever offered during any September, according to the Mega Millions communications team.
Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two percent Retailer Performance Winning Ticket incentive, up to $100,000.
Players have 180 days from the draw dates to claim their winnings. Information on how to claim a prize is available on wilottery.com. Players can also check to see if their ticket is a winner by using the Lottery's mobile app, available on the App Store or Google Play.
Mega Millions drawings are Tuesday and Friday at 10 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday to be included in that day's drawing.
The odds of winning a $1 million Mega Millions prize are 1:12,607,307. The odds of a 4X Megaplier being drawn for the Friday drawing were 1:5.
The odds of winning a $10,000 Mega Millions prize are 1:931,002.
