MEGABUCKS LIGHTNING BALL LIMITED TIME OFFER
A. The theme and name of the game:
The MEGABUCKS LIGHTNING BALL LIMITED TIME OFFER is an addition to the Wisconsin Lottery’s WISCONSIN'S MEGABUCKS game. Only those sections of the Wisconsin's Megabucks Features and Procedures that are changed for the MEGABUCKS LIGHTNING BALL LIMITED TIME OFFER are represented in this document. Unless amended by this document, all provisions of the Megabucks Features and Procedures remain in effect for the WISCONSIN'S MEGABUCKS LIGHTNING BALL LIMITED TIME OFFER. This limited time offer will be available only from September 1, 2023, to September 30, 2023, inclusive.
Section A of WISCONSIN'S MEGABUCKS features and procedures shall be changed as follows:
The name of this game is WISCONSIN'S MEGABUCKS. It is a game in which the player selects a set of six (6) different numbers from one (1) to forty-nine (49). Additionally, one more number (called the "Lightning Ball" and printed after the letters "LB" on each eligible play) will appear on every third (3rd) set of two (2) plays of Wisconsin's Megabucks purchased statewide. The Lightning Ball will also be a number from one (1) to forty-nine (49) and will be different from the other six numbers in that same play. At the player’s option, the two (2) sets of six (6) numbers may be player-selected or randomly selected by computer. All Lightning Ball numbers will be randomly selected by the computer at the time of purchase for each eligible play.
The six (6) winning numbers are randomly selected by a drawing. Numbers within a single play, including the Lightning Ball (if it appears), are matched against the six (6) numbers drawn. There is no separate Lightning Ball drawing.
A pari-mutuel prize is awarded for correctly matching, in any order, six (6) of the six (6) numbers drawn; the Lightning Ball cannot be used to match a number drawn and win the jackpot prize. Set prizes are awarded for matching, in any order, five (5), four (4), or three (3) of the six (6) numbers drawn where the Lightning Ball (if it appears) does not match any number drawn.
For plays with a Lightning Ball where the Lightning Ball matches one (1) of the numbers drawn, set prizes are awarded for matching, in any order, five (5), four (4), three (3), or two (2) of the six (6) numbers drawn in addition to the Lightning Ball.
For the purposes of the Lottery’s Retailer Performance Program, this game is considered a jackpot game.
B. The price of tickets:
Section 1 shall be changed as follows:
- The price of a ticket is one dollar ($1.00), or such other price as set by the Lottery Division Administrator, which entitles the player to enter two (2) plays (two (2) sets of six (6) different numbers from a field of one (1) to forty-nine (49) with or without Lightning Balls) in each drawing for which the ticket is purchased.
Section 2 shall be changed as follows:
- Tickets purchased for the current drawing may also be purchased for the next seven (7) drawings. In its sole discretion, the Lottery may designate that fewer than eight (8) drawings are available for purchase. Tickets may only be purchased for consecutive drawings starting with the next drawing available for purchase. Tickets containing a play with a Lightning Ball are eligible for prizes under section C1 as amended below for all drawings (i.e., drawing dates) that ticket is eligible for, including drawings after September 30, 2023.
C. The prize structure, including the number and value of prizes:
Section 1 shall be changed as follows:
- All prizes are funded solely out of the tickets purchased. Approximately fifty-nine and one tenths percent (59.1%) of each dollar played is allocated to prizes. Prizes are awarded as follows for plays without a Lightning Ball:

Section 5 shall be changed as follows:
- The holder of a winning ticket may win only one (1) prize per play (set of six (6) numbers with or without a Lightning Ball) in connection with the numbers drawn, and shall be entitled only to the highest prize won by matching those numbers.
