Madison, Wis. -- Vasil Kapbardhi enjoys playing the Lottery, but he had never won more than a few hundred dollars until yesterday. The Eau Claire man claimed a winning $1 million Super Millions scratch ticket on Wednesday, March 13. Kapbardhi purchased his winning ticket from Mega Holiday #6 on 2920 Craig Rd. in Eau Claire.
"I didn't believe I won after I scratched the ticket," said Kapbardhi. "Until we went to the Lottery offices, my wife and I were in disbelief."
Kapbardhi likes to play scratch games, but also enjoys playing Mega Millions, Powerball and SuperCash! lotto games.
Kapbardhi's wife Greta added, "This is a wonderful surprise."
Wednesday was a lucky day for two Eau Claire Lottery players.
A winning $500,000 Maximum Cash Crossword was also claimed by a different player at the Lottery office. The winning ticket was sold at Mega Holiday #9 on 5511 Hwy 93 in Eau Claire.
The two winning Mega Holiday locations are five miles apart.
Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two percent Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive, up to $100,000.
The odds of winning the top prize of $1 million in Super Millions are 1:160,000. Super Millions has two top prizes remaining.
The odds of winning the top prize of $500,000 in Maximum Cash Crossword are 1:140,000. Maximum Cash Crossword has two top prizes remaining.
