MADISON, Wis. -- It may turn into a billion-dollar weekend.
Currently, the nation's two largest Lotto games are in the midst of a staggering jackpot duel with both Mega Millions and Powerball featuring their largest jackpots of 2026 so far. The estimated jackpot for Mega Millions is $604 million for tonight's drawing while the estimated jackpot for Powerball is $457 million for its Saturday drawing.
For Mega Millions, the jackpot is the 12th-largest in the game's history. It is the second time this year, a Mega Millions jackpot worth more than $500 million is up for grabs. In March, a $536 million Mega Millions jackpot was won by a ticket sold in Illinois.
The last Powerball jackpot win in 2026 took place on April 29 where players in Indiana and Kansas split a $129 million prize.
Mega Millions tickets are $5 per play and every ticket automatically receives a randomly generated multiplier (2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X). Drawings are Tuesday and Friday at 10 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday to be included in that day’s drawing.
Powerball drawings are Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before 9:00 p.m. to be included in a drawing. Powerball tickets are $2 per play, with the option to buy the Power Play feature for an additional $1.
Lottery players who want to try playing both Powerball and Mega Millions may be interested in Wisconsin's Lucky 13. For $13, players receive a Quick Pick ticket for eight different Lotto games including Mega Millions and Powerball.
The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot are 1:290,472,336 while the odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1:292,201,338.
