FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEMadison, WI - No one hit the Powerball jackpot last night, which is now an estimated $835 million for the Wednesday, September 27 drawing. However, a player did win big in Wisconsin.
A winning $50,000 Powerball ticket was purchased at Meijer Store on 7701 Green Bay Rd. in Kenosha for the September 25 drawing. The winning ticket matched four of five numbers (10-12-22-36-50) plus the Powerball (4).
"This made my day! And it isn’t even my money," said Service Team Lead, Meaney F.
Wednesday's Powerball jackpot drawing will be the 30th drawing during this jackpot run. The current estimated jackpot is inching toward a record total. In the history of the game, Powerball jackpots that have ranked higher than the current amount are above the billion-dollar amount including:
1) $2.04 billion – November 7, 2022, CA
2) $1.586 billion – January 13, 2016, CA, FL, TN
3) $1.308 billion – July 19, 2023, CA
Including yesterday's $50,000 win in Wisconsin, a total of 32 $50,000 winning Powerball tickets have been sold during this jackpot run.
Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two percent Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive, up to $100,000.
Players have 180 days from the draw dates to claim their winnings. Information on how to claim a prize is available at wilottery.com/winners/claim-prize.
Powerball drawings are Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before 9 p.m. to be included in the drawing.
Players can check to see if their ticket is a winner by going to wilottery.com or by using the Lottery's new mobile app, available on the
App Store or Google Play.
The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1:292,201,338. The odds of winning a $50,000 Powerball prize are 1:913,130.
