Mega Millions game changes

Mega Millions New Features

Mega Millions with bigger, better features!

Built-in Multipliers and prizes starting at $10!

NEW Features:
  1. In April 2025, the price per play changed from $2 to $5.
    • There is no longer a $1 Megaplier add-on option that was offered on the old game.
  2. Built-In Multiplier at no additional cost!
    • Each $5 play automatically receives a randomly generated Multiplier (2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, or 10X) at the time of purchase.
    • A Multiplier will be printed next to each play on the ticket. The Multiplier will only apply to that same play and does not apply to the Jackpot.
    • Multipliers increase every winning play except the Jackpot.
  3. No break-even prizes!
    • Because every play gets a Multiplier and the lowest possible Multiplier is 2X, the lowest prize a player can win is $10.
    • The odds statement lists the base prize amount (pre-multiplying) of $5 even though players will never win $5. The odds statements also includes the statement “All prizes except the JACKPOT are multiplied by the Multiplier number for that same play.”
  4. Bigger, better prizes!
    • Depending on the Multiplier for the winning play, non-jackpot prizes win a minimum of $10 up to $10 MILLION.
    • Jackpot odds improved from 1 in 303 million to 1 in 291 million.
    • The starting jackpot has increased to $50 million.
    • See chart below for more prize comparisons from the old to the new game.
How to Play:
  • For each $5 play, select 5 of 70 numbers and then 1 of 24 numbers for the Mega Ball, or simply ask for a "Quick Pick" to have the terminal select the numbers for you.
  • A Multiplier will be randomly generated and print next to each corresponding play on the ticket. The Multiplier will only apply to that same play and does not apply to the Jackpot.
  • Drawings are still Tuesday and Friday evenings.
