MADISON, Wis. -- Big Powerball wins were frequent in Appleton in 2025 and it looks like the trend is continuing in 2026. A winning $50,000 Powerball ticket was sold at a Kwik Trip on 306 N. Richmond St. for the Saturday, January 3, 2026, drawing. The winning ticket matched four of five (18-21-40-53-60) and the Powerball (23).
Including Saturday's win, there have been 12 winning Powerball tickets of $50,000 or more sold in Appleton since 2017. Five of those winning tickets were purchased in 2025.
Of the 2025 Appleton Powerball wins, two were $50,000 winners, two were $100,000 winners, and largest winning ticket was a $2 million winner, split by seven players.
The estimated jackpot for tonight's Powerball drawing is $86 million.
Wisconsin Lottery retailers who sell winning tickets over $599 receive a two-percent Retailer Performance Winning Ticket Incentive, up to $100,000.
Players have 180 days from the draw date to claim their winnings. Information on how to claim a prize is available at wilottery.com. Players can also see if their ticket is a winner by using the Lottery's mobile app, available at the App Store or Google Play.
Powerball drawings are Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. Tickets must be purchased before 9:00 p.m. to be included in a drawing. Powerball tickets are $2 per play, with the option to buy the Power Play feature for an additional $1.
The odds to win a $50,000 prize are 1:913,130. The odds of winning a $1 million prize are 1:11,688,054 while the odds to win the jackpot are 1:292,201,338.
